I am being asked to include a security question for my e-Transfer
Introduction
Certain banks are not registered with Interac's auto-deposit network, namely Desjardins, National Bank of Canada and other banks and credit union. This is why you may be asked to create a security question and answer even though we are auto-deposit registered. This article will provide detailed step-by-step instructions on how to do that exactly.
Aegis Step by Step Instructions
Here is a quick step-by-step guide on how to pay via e-Transfer for any Bloc Pay invoices when your bank requires you to include a security question and answer:
- Step 1 - Open Your Aegis Invoice - Login to Aegis using 2FA authentication and proceed until you reach the screen below. This will confirm how much your invoice is and which e-mail address to send your e-transfer to. Please note this information for the next steps in this guide.
- Step 2 - Login to Your Online Banking Profile - Navigate to your mobile banking app or bank's website and login using your online banking credentials (i.e. debit/credit card number and password). You may also need to verify your identity with a text verification code that your bank will send you.
- Step 3 - Navigate to the "Send e-Transfer" Screen - Go to the Interac e-Transfer screen and select the "Send Money" option
- Step 4 - Create Bloc Pay Contact - On the "Select a Contact" screen, you will need to create a new contact to send money to us.
The contact name should be inputted as Bloc Pay
And the e-mail address should be inputted as etransfer@aegischeckout.ca or whatever e-mail address is on your invoice screen.
A phone number is not required.
You may also need to verify your identity with a text verification code that your bank will send you.
- Step 5 - Create and Send the e-Transfer - From this point on, you can navigate back to the Interac e-Transfer screen and select the "Send Money" option again.
Input the amount of your invoice and select your newly created Bloc Pay contact.
At this point, you'll be prompted to create a security question and answer
In the Questions field, please input: numbers
In the Answers field, please input: seven

How to Send an e-Transfer
- Step 6 - Go Back to the Aegis Payment Screen - Navigate back to the Aegis invoice screen and select the "I HAVE SENT THE E-TRANSFER" option
- Step 7 - Wait for Payment to Process - You will be redirected to a screen that confirms your payment is processing.
